I've almost always seen creativity as the highest attribute of any human, although maybe cognitively intelligence and creativity come from different places in your brain. Just generally, though, I look up to creative people more than anyone else. It used to seem to me like a special talent embodying selective free souls, souls that decide to do things differently or have a peculiar sense of dressing or have a wild perception of the world.
Another notion I had about creative people was that they came from extreme backgrounds. Either poverty/bad circumstances had driven them to channelize their deep emotions and thoughts into something profound, or their exquisite lifestyles exposed them to all there is to know and see and experience, and their connections with knowledgeable people of high caliber gave them the motivational drive to pursue creativity in its elite form. How then, will I, a fairly normal girl with a fairly normal life ever be creative? Over the years, naturally(thanks to the fact that I've pursued a career in design) everything I know about creativity took on a less intimidating and more realizable form. It exists within each one of us. I realized that, no matter how commonplace the day to day things I do are, these small or large experiences I've had and the way I let them affect me will profoundly affect my thought process. Wouldn't that mean every thought has the potential to turn creative? You may not be able to identify these thoughts at first, but with time and mindfulness, you start noticing it. It can be a shy and insecure little guy, but a little nudging and encouragement from your side, and he's ready to take stage.
